According to the info we have, the upcoming X48, actually is selected X38 chip.

Of course, Intel push up the performance of the chipset. We all know X48 supports 1600MHz FSB YorkField and Supports DDR3 1600 XMP. Of course Intel finally decide to abandon DDR2.

Because X48 are only an"OC version of X38”,the bug inside X38 still exists in X48. for example, if the computer have a warm reset or S3(post to ram), the PCIe width may reduces. you may experience Such bugs in X48.

　　据目前的资料显示，定于明年年初发布的X48芯片组，实质上只是被精选出来的X38芯片。

　　当然，Intel还是提升了这个芯片组的一些性能。在CPU方面，将会增加对1600MHz FSB YorkField的支持。据称在X48之后，Intel还会推出一颗1600MHz FSB的Core 2 Extreme。

　　在内存方面，Intel增加了对DDR3 1600MHz的XMP支持，让支持XMP1600的内存可以被直接系统认出并优化。但是，相对于X38，Intel屏蔽了芯片对DDR2的支持，让系统只能使用DDR3内存。

　　由于X48只是X38的“超频升级版”，所以目前X38存在的Bug在X48里仍然会存在。例如在S3(Post to Ram)状态恢复或者软重启(warm reset)后，PCIe X16的带宽有可能会由于某种原因会减少，类似这种X38出现的小问题，在消费者使用X48的时候，很可能仍然会体验到。
