Similar to the relation between X38 and P35, nForce 780i SLI is only an upgraded version of 680i SLI plus an NF200 chip. But comparing to X38's PCIe Gen2 & dual PCIe x16 upgrade, the 780i SLI's 3-way SLI is more attractive. However we regret that we can't test the performance of the 3-way SLI due to the lack of the special 3-way bridge.

And in the OC part, 780i SLI is not satisfying. Yes the Qual core CPU OC ability of the 780i SLI are as good as P35, but the dual core OC ability of 780i SLI still needs to strengthen.

Anyway, we think the days for 780i SLI is short. the biggest feature: 3-way SLI is not unique, his older brother 680i SLI will also have the feature. And the DDR3 790i SLI will announce in Q1 08. Lack of features make 780i SLI have to compete with its blood brother. We believe that in the market 780i SLI won't have good result competing with NV's own 680i SLi and 790i SLI.

　　和Intel刚刚发布的X38芯片组与P35的关系非常非常的类似，nForce 780i SLI相对目前的nForce 680i SLI也只是规格上的些许升级，严格来说它只是后者外加NF200芯片的升级版本而已。不过相对于X38在PCI Express 2.0和双PCI Express x16的升级，nForce 780i SLI的3-way SLI要更加的具有吸引力，可惜的是，由于手上没有3-way SLI的连接器，我们无法对此进行测试，这也是本次测试中最大的遗憾。

　　事实上，在主板芯片组的规格和功能特性上，NVIDIA丝毫也不会比Intel差，只不过后者毕竟在该领域的功力更加深厚，而且也有着某些众所周知的得天独厚的优势，因此，我们在基准效能测试中可以看到，nForce 780i SLI在基准效能上相对X38没有任何优势，即使和P35、P965等也没有什么竞争力。

　　在超频方面，nForce 780i SLI的表现也未能尽如人意，尽管在四核处理器超频方面并不会比Intel的P35逊色多少，但在双核处理器的超频方面仍需多多努力。

　　不管怎么样，作为第一款支持3-way SLI的主板，nForce 780i SLI还是让人充满了期望的，只是，在nForce 680i SLI同样会支持3-way SLI，而且支持DDR3的nForce 790i SLI将在08年第一季度发布的情况下，nForce 780i SLI需要面对前后夹击，前景并不乐观。从我们得到的消息来看，尽管华硕等部分一线厂商已经表示出对它的兴趣，相关的产品也正在紧锣密鼓的测试当中，但是像DFI等厂商则不大可能为它投入什么精力，再加上定位和定价上的原因，国内的通路品牌也不大可能推出相关的产品，相信在未来的市场上nForce 780i SLI难免遇到曲高和寡的尴尬。

　　不过，随着PCI Express 2.0的新一代显卡G92/G98系列以及3-way SLI驱动的正式推出，nForce 780i SLI才能最终迎来大展拳脚的舞台。让我们把眼光放到11月12日，期待nForce 780i SLI正式发布后能带给我们更多的惊喜。
